Why do ASHI Inspections Cost More?A home is the most important purchase decision most people will make in their lifetimes. When making such an important decision the Home Inspection is not the place to save a few dollars. Having an inspection performed by an AMERICAN SOCIETY OF HOME INSPECTORS certified company usually costs a little more but is surely worth it. In order to be ASHI certified you must actually have experience, must pass the most comprehensive certification test in the country, must maintain 21 credit hours of continuing education every year and must perform the inspection to a strict STANDARD OF PRACTICE and adhere to a CODE OF ETHICS. An ASHI inspection will take longer, be more thorough and educate you about the home. Experience counts in the inspection business. HomeCheck Home Inspections is a fully certified ASHI company. This means that every inspector in our company is ASHI certified as a full member. This certification did not come easily and most companies fail to acheive this high standard. There are other "certifications" available in our industry that do not measure up. Some certifications are available by taking a simple on-line test and submitting a fee for processing. These certifications claim that everyone who passes this simple test, pays the fee and performs 25 inspections is a "member". ASHI requires hundreds of inspections to acheive the ASHI certification standard. A HomeCheck Home Inspections' inspector is not a new inspector with minimal experience but an experienced technical veteran with thousands of inspections performed. Know your inspection company and do not be fooled by fancy certifications from unqualified sources. |
